The blessings of this passing year stand out above the challenges of life during the holiday season, when we get together with friends and family to share love for others and appreciation for the good things that we enjoy. Just being able to be together during the holidays may be the biggest blessing, and not to be taken for granted, as so many families and loved-ones are scattered across the globe this season.
Like the survivors of the earliest settlements in New England, we should also appreciate the good harvest our nation has enjoyed this summer and fall, while slowing down to appreciate the above-average lifestyle we enjoy compared to much of the world. Much of that national wealth, as in the earliest settlements, still derives from America’s vast natural resources and the creative ways in which we utilize those enormous blessings.
In closing, please allow me to say THANK-YOU! Enjoy your well-deserved holiday in peace and thanksgiving!
